I am recommending this book to my writing classes and other skilled authors. Definately a book to keep near the keyboard for those who want to craft their best writing. No excuse for writing like an amateur By Lori Okay folks, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to buying any book I can borrow, but when I considered how much I've learned from Cec Murphy's blog over the years, I knew I needed his new book.I bought it. Paid full price for it INCLUDING shipping. I read it through in a day, and now I'm starting over. I've read a lot of writing books over the years, but this is the best one I've ever encountered. He gets you with the first chapter, "How Not to Look Like an Amateur," and builds from there. Writing tips, formatting tips, submission tips, grammar tips. It's like sitting at the feet of, well, a writing professional who's authored over 40 books and gathering the gold nuggets of wisdom and knowledge that drop from his lips.Although much of it was review for me, there was still SO MUCH helpful content that I had to put the book down and write this review. You need this book. I need this book. After reading it, there will be no excuse for a writer to look like an amateur. Or write like one. It's a daily tutorial for those who want to become masters of their craft.If my words aren't enough to convince you, read the review from Amazon. And go ahead and buy the book. You can thank me later.

Herlocker After years of following Cec Murphey's blog, I was delighted to find that this book holds much of his writing advice. I've recommended WRITER TO WRITER to all my writing friends, and to editing clients. If you can only buy one writing book, this is a good one to start with.
