Many different questions separated into chapters. I used some the diagnostic tests to gauge my starting point for review. Then I moved to the chapters that I was weakest at and drilled problems. The plus is that the explanantions are detailed. Initially I need to refer to many more explanations. It was great that the solutions were available for the problems. Some review material assumes that the reader knows how to solve a particular problem. Here I could see the sample solution and compare it with the steps I used to solve the same problem. I learned some tricks to work faster and more accurately. An excellent investment of time and money.

Refreshed my memory about several types of problems. I learned from reading the solutions to the questions I got correct, those I struggled with and those I was unsure of how to approach. I did about half of the diagnostic tests at the start of the review process and saved the others till after I worked through the chapters. I like that the topics are divided into chapters so I could drill problems to reinforce my learning. Glad I used this book. It was a nice improvement from the texts I used in college because the explanations were easy to understand because they were so detailed and I could fill in those steps that I was unsure about when I approached the problem for the first time.

The questions have solutions that are very detailed and easy to follow. I was able to practice my physics problem-solving skills and learn a few shortcuts to certain type problems. The diagnostic tests allowed me to identify the areas I needed to study and practice more. Great comprehensive preparation guide.

Her books make me laugh and I usually love the interactions between the characters. This book started out the same but I must say, the ending totally ruined the entire book for me.Spoiler Alert: Seriously, Adam and Jonas are so mad at her because she took in a box of stray kittens and rescued them?? She was even taken into custody? In real life, if you call the police because some one left a box of stray cats at your door, the police would laugh at you! They would not... break off a relationship and then arrest you for theft! The brother Adam says to Shay "... I am trying to figure out if you are just stupid for your own good or if you're trying to 'cluck' with my brothers life..." and then Jonas tells her, "... I don't think you know what love is..." Talk about being over dramatic! She took in a box of stray kittens for Gawd's sake!!!!! When the grand theft story surfaced, Jonas trusted her from the beginning... never doubted her. But when she saves a box of stray kittens that were left in her care... all heck breaks loose?!?!? I just don't get it. Did the author run out of plot ideas? Uggg....

By Kindle Customer Let me start by saying I LOVED the first four books in the St. Helena Vineyard series about the four DeLuca brothers. The women as well as the men were strong characters and the obstacles in their relationships were believable. The town characters, most of them older, were cute and enjoyable. However, something changed in the last book of the series about the sister, Abby, in "From the Moment We Met" and continues in this book. The town characters went from cute to over the top and silly. Both the women and men were weak and completely out of control of their lives...In both books, I stopped in the middle and just went to the end. I couldn't get through the books. For me, it was almost painful to read. I am so disappointed.l..I was hoping this book would go back to the way the original books were written and be a great romance with strong characters and interesting plots.

Jonah keeps doing things for Shay (building a dog fence, taking in a stray kitten, looking the other way when it comes to the law) but Shay never reciprocates. She seems flighty and selfish-her character seems nice but grow up! Other characters in the book are not believable they are cartoonish. Don't know how it ends and don't care.

Recognizing Wyatt in Contemporary Art By Mr. Feddle I did not attend dOCUMENTA(13) in 2012, or any of Kassel's previous 5-yearly extravaganzas, but I was struck by an uncanny sense of recognition while reading Mr. Vila-Matas unique and brilliant book. Grand-scale, provocatively-conceived displays of contemporary art have the potential to do strange things to those of us who enter into its these creative, immersive worlds from the outside, especially for those of a literary persuasion who write or generally profess ideas in words for a living. We can be bewitched by the way artists and curators can make ideas materialize, project hypotheses, generate arguments and then invite us to participate in their meanings and their truths. If we are willing to follow their threads and clues, make associations and leaps and be curious and open, we can experience art in a way that we recognize from those first encounters (and fevered rereadings) of classic avant-garde literature and radical philosophy. Mr Vila-Matas has written a personal and polemic ode to the contemporary power of art to not only blow new life into literature (and this endlessly inventive author's place in it), but also to initiate a novel form of creative art writing and theoretical fiction in the process. When read alongside the Frieze Documenta Reader (released as an e-book before dOCUMENTA(13) opened), you'll thank Mr. Vila-Matas for radically changing the rules about writing the histories and experiences of contemporary art exhibitons.

It has all the elements of great fiction. The story is funny, insightful about art, and takes the reader on a journey along with the narrator. It has a wonderful blend of fact and fiction, and the narrator takes you through the sometimes-absurd, often-amazing journey through the contemporary art world. Every page had me pausing to enjoy his observations about art, the creation of art, and also had amazing meditations on loneliness, the interconnectedness of strangers, and more. A really great read, and as a new fan of Vila-Matas, I am now reading his other translated works!

Devin Brown is a Lilly Scholar and Professor of English at Asbury University. He is an expert on C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien and the author of nine books, among them the most recent biographies written on the two authors. It's ok as a travelog but it doesn't map out or place a scriptural scaffolding up against this deep thinker's bridge-building talks. Just very difficult to work through as a group. The videos are nice but lack continuity/transitions to help those studying see the whole picture. There are other resources out there, online which you can download or stream, which provide the content you might need to beef up your walk through this book. These are just my opinions, but the glassy eyes of within my group and the extra effort needed to say ... "this is what he's getting at" make this a very painful group study. IM(NS)HO

Only four chapters in this column, but two of them are absolute beasts--if the Gnarl in Column 4 blew your mind as it did mine, wait till you see what happens at The Prominence. Some great mystery, some great action, and as always, Carmichael's engaging writing that makes even the details shine. But what's more is added depth; getting into this level of humanity is rare in sci-fantasy, and here it makes the story both more fun and more satisfying.Oh, and there's also a jaw-dropping twist at the end.Actually two.You know, if you like that sort of thing.

By James Morgan Gardner Just finished column five - another fantastic installment, and once again I couldn't put it down from start to finish. The world continues to get richer with every turn, and the mystery deepens as Emmy et al engage with the Prominence. The characters remain among the most nuanced, original, and exciting I've encountered in any recent fiction. Can't wait for column six!

I love the darker themes this book explores By Cary McClelland I keep returning to Emmy and her many worlds with relish, something of an addict's itch. I love the darker themes this book explores, unexpected for such a young genre--it has a sincere, full-bodied and wise perspective on its characters and their potential. Carmichael keeps experimenting, and I cannot wait to see each beautiful stroke and messy explosion.

I really enjoyed reading this shifter romance. Lily is just trying to help out a shifter when she ends up having to run for her own life. Theron is hard at work looking for a cure to magic, he does not have the time to run or for a mate. But fate has other ideas for the both of them. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a FANGTASTIC book & PUUURRFECT continuation & addition to an equally PAWESOME series! I am a very impatient reader, so it was killing me to have to wait on this story, but WOW! It was sooooo worth the wait!! I was so curious about Theron from the beginning and even though he seemed like a gigantic jerk I was very eager to read his story. So eager in fact that I devoured it as soon as I got it! And Lily? Lily sure is one mind-blowing character as well! :) I was completely shocked and heartbroken to hear both of their stories! Fate, Destiny, The Gods That Be, whomever is in control, sure has a warped sense of humor! What a TIGERRIFIC story that is filled with humor, stubborn characters of all kinds, romance, magic, grief, heartbreak, secrets and more! While I thoroughly love, Love, LOVE this book & series, at the same time I wish each story had been a little longer. There are some 'blanks' that I want filled in, mysteries, hints & teases solved/answered, which I am hoping will happen in future books! At first I thought that these stories were each written as longer, more complete stories, but now after finishing Scholar, I don't think that is the case at all! I think it is all setting up to have one huge helluva BAM! kind of climatic ending where EVERYTHING will become clear, all will be answered, explained, discovered, this is all small pieces to set up the massive & detailed overall larger storyline. Bhere is no CLAWS for concern, because it does NOT take anything away from the story and the characters still get their HEAs, and since I was still instantly absorbed into the story and transported to a magical world, it is definitely worth a 5 star review! All in all this is a SHIFTACULAR series written by one enormously talented author who has me ABSO-FURRY-LUTELY addicted to her books!! Cass, I sincerely hope that you have lots more planned for this SHIFTACULAR World because I DO NOT EVER want to leave it!

Lily is a G.H.O.S.T. and can read and control people’s minds. She works as a maid for Zelloth who owns the Coliseum. She has come to warn Theron that Zelloth is looking for another tiger shifter to fight at the Coliseum and that Zelloth believes Theron is a tiger shifter. She is there to warn him that he needs to leave town. Theron is a total ass to Lily and treats her like crap. He makes her prove her powers by sicking his son/assistant on her. Finn has the ability to control earth magic and his favorite is sending out vines to attack the person. He is also part tiger shifter. Finn had his mind erased by his father eight years ago when he witnessed his father kill his mother during his first shift as a tiger. Also at his father’s lab is the goddess Hecate, who just showed up at one point to watch Theron work in his lab and wouldn’t leave. After having said her piece to Theron, Lily leaves and returns to her apartment to find two of Zelloth’s men waiting for her. Lily knows that he has found out about her and that she is now in danger and needs to leave herself. As she is getting ready to leave while holding the minds of the two bad men, Hecate and Finn show up at her apartment and within a little while Theron shows up also. When they get out of the apartment they have to deal with 20 more men from Zelloth, and then they leave the city. The hole up in an abandoned house outside of town and Lily and Theron finally work out their differences after all Lily is Theron’s mate and mate her he does. They make it to Theron’s brother who is hiding out at Diesel’s house. I liked this book. I was happy that Lily’s character was strong enough to stand up to Theron’s personality. I liked Finn’s character and his neat abilities. I received this story free in exchange for an honest review.

Terry Green's dystopian sci-fi trilogy.When we last left Thirteen, Cord, and little Miyu, they had liberated a slavers' ship and were heading for Helado, the city-on-a-volcanic-island where Thirteen hoped to find and rescue her sister at last. Hot on their heels was Helado's navy, headed by Prince Céfiro, who has sworn to win his father's favor by bringing in the Ghost -- the pirate who preys on Helado's most profitable industry by attacking slaving ships and setting the slaves free.Cord has no interest in going to Helado, for reasons he is trying to keep secret. But he knows where Thirteen's sister is, and Thirteen has demanded that he take her to her. So when the navy catches up to them at last, he does the one thing he knows will reunite the sisters.To tell you what he does would be a major spoiler. Thirteen is awesome, deadly but awesome! The first two books in this series lead you to wonder what has happened in her life to make her as she is. This book will give you those answers but break your heart in doing so. Cort is also not what he seems. The power of love will take each of them on a course that is not to be believed. This series is a must read! If you have not read the first two parts then get them first and take the journey with them. The final book will knock you on your backside with all the twists and turns.

Ms. Green has done an excellent job of creating a world of the possible future we can get lost in. Her characters are compelling and diligence has been paid to the setting. It easily becomes real for the reader. The style is smooth and family friendly, the writing concise and the plot believable. Read this book. But only after you've read the first two of the series.

A beautiful and magical continuation By Charity Rowell-Stansbury In Gilded Moon, readers quickly discover that the closeness that the daughters were achieving in the first book is not easy to maintain as they are still reeling from the loss and betrayal caused by Rhyan's departure. We get to see how the resulting exhaustion and distrust between the daughters affect their powers and their relationships with each other; if the grass is really greener in Axiom's part of the world as we check in on Rhyan; and discover the mistakes that some people made in their interpretations of Samhelia's prophecy.I enjoyed Fated Volition, the first book in The Sapphire Star Saga, so I have been looking forward to reading Gilded Moon. Meinhold did not miss a beat as she picked up a little over a month after the battle with the giants in Fated Volition. Within the first few pages, readers get the impression that all is not well with the daughters as Meinhold quickly draws readers into the world she has created.Gilded Moon is fantastic, wondrous, romantic, and sometimes dark; it was easy to immerse myself in, and difficult to remove myself from, the world that Meinhold created. I am looking forward to the next book in The Sapphire Star Saga.

It speaks of their powers and how they are all connected, but it also makes the reader think of things in his or her life that does what those elements were doing. The story is still set in a different time and place with wonderful creatures, but also still manages to be relatable. Losing oneself in this book is not a difficult task. It truly is phenomenal.I strongly recommend reading the first installment as well as this one.

By Anna Wallace This is a concise, smart, easy read and one that was well worth the time. As a mother of 7, myself, I have read and tried what feels like a million and one meal plans for our family. These ideas would work equally well for a single person, a small family or a large family with tons of kids. That's what's unique about it and differentiates it from other meal plans... its a framework that you build to suit your own family and your own tastes. Chock full of practical tips and steps to help you build your own plan, you won't find useless recipes or exotic food your family would never eat. Finally, a meal plan that makes sense and I am using! You put some good solid thought into when you originally set it up, but then - by following the author's plan- becomes essentially automatic. Could not be easier! What a brilliant and smart plan... one I wish I would have thought of myself! But SO glad I read this and can start, now, implementing this efficient way to plan for our family to enjoy the healthy meals we like.

I am a seasoned meal-planner and I am always looking for the next tip to make feeding my family a smoother process. This book gave me several tools to simplify and automate this area. The author outlines a comprehensive approach to meals/food and offers options for everyone's meal planning journey. If you are new, you can do the simple steps and with a short rotation to see how this could help you day-to-day. If you are looking for a super automated, I don't ever have to think about it approach, this book will get you there. Again, easy read, but plenty of details walk you step by step through the process, and she answers all the "what if..." questions too.

Excellent planning tips and suggestions for meal planning By Terri Kryzer This book walks you through the steps of planning your meals by using a google calendar. It is set up so that even those who know nothing about the calendar can be successful! This is a great book for both singles or families trying to get their meals, groceries and life more organized! It's very motivational and I'm excited to start using my new meal plan. Another highlight is the rotation is set up so that I only have to input my plan in the calendar once in my lifetime!!

One of the best books for beginners with a great companion website: http://introcs.cs.princeton.edu/python . This book is a prelude to those advanced books which use Python and contains a lot of interesting programming problems. I have adopted this book for the basic course I am teaching this semester. The price of the book is extremely high which might hamper the book being used widely.

Meant for first year undergrad students. Unlike the O'Reilly Python book which are humongous, this book is manageable although big. For a 1 semester this is perfect book. High school students can get started as well. I love the paperstyle/texture as well as the color coordination. Has space to write notes also. Lot of concepts explained including Recursion, Object Oriented Programming and so on. Great way to learn python for amateurs as well as students and professionals. I am of the belief that all girls and boys should learn python even if they don't use in real life. This will increase appreciation for computers and overall knowledge. It is very easy to master unlike otehr areas like astronomy/medicine/chemistry etc. Must for anyone who is even closely associated with computers bookshelf.

Odd Selection of Authors for Such a Great Topic By Bob Monroe This book was written by three very distinctly different authors, which had it's own bipolar quality to it. One of the authors is quite technical and enjoys digging deep into Python with the enthusiasm of a puppy with a new ball. Another author likes to show the readers how to create and play games using Python and has a great flare for taking the pages from simple steps to wonderful creations. The last author is the grumpy professor that just just want you to shut up and listen to his lecture. That author knows way too much about Python but not enough about teaching new learners.In a weird way, it all balances out.It's like the old good cop, bad cop, psychopath cop thing.There is quite a bit of math in this book but then again, most programming books are heavy into functions, arrays, patterns and other mind numbing topics. Thanks to the bipolar nature of the writers, the reader isn't overburdened with too much math at any given time. The math also builds on itself to show you how you get from point A to point 74.b14 of quadrant strray.create.id [i+j]. See how easy that is?I'm not a math guy, which is why I have too many speeding tickets and spend too much at the grocery store. I did enjoy this book, though. This is a computer science book written from an academic community that just so happens to cover Python. In my opinion, if you really want to learn Python, you should look at another book. This is the type of book you get assigned in school, not one you buy because you want to learn how to code.Python is a hackers language. It is simple, clean and easy to work with. This book makes it appear to much more complicated than it needs to be. Sure, the games are fun to work through and the theory portions are nice to know but it doesn't get into the heart of Python's strengths as a language.Introduction to Programming in Python gives a great overview of some simple possibilities built into the language but it doesn't show you the real engine under the hood of that monster car. If I were looking at a method for learning Python by reading books, I would place this one as my third or forth book to read. It is almost a reference book because it tries to sell specific parts of Python to an academic audience. Most of the Python folks I know would not be interested in this book unless they were teaching first or second year college course on Python.There are examples on how to build vector drawings, find the quickest path through a maze, validating a doubling hypothesis and sorting (lots of sorting). I thought I was at the laundromat doing all that sorting. The authors included plenty of code to tool around with. Some of the critical parts of the code are listed on the authors web site.Note to authors around the world: Don't put important parts of your book on a public web site because books get passed down and often have a longer life expectancy than you web site. Missing code sucks, give us a CD or even a micoSD card that has the code on it.Expect to find the usual exercises at the end of each chapter. This seems to be the formula for all books these days. I was reading Green Eggs and Ham with my daughter and there were practice questions plug in there too.The book sits at 771 pages and is well written but would not be my first choice for learning Python. The charts and diagrams helped to illustrate information but nothing spectacular. I do like green eggs myself.
