About the Author Conrad Bauer is passionate about everything paranormal, mysterious, and terrifying. It comes from his childhood and the famous stories his grandfather used to tell the family during summer vacation camping trips. He vividly remembers his grandfather sitting around the fire with new stories to tell everyone who would gather around and listen. His favorites were about the paranormal, including ghost stories, haunted houses, strange places, and paranormal occurrences. Bauer is an adventurous traveller who has gone to many places in search of the unexplained and paranormal. He has been researching the paranormal and what scares people for more than four decades. He has accumulated a solid expertise and knowledge that he now shares through his books with his readers and followers. Conrad, now retired, lives in the countryside in Ireland with his wife and two dogs.

By Vikk Simmons Talk about a good beginning, I loved how the author jumped right in and took us to Isla de las Muecas (The Island of the Dolls) outside of Mexico City. I'm surprised that I haven't heard of it before. Its history makes for an interesting read. Really interesting story. I've heard of the The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania and would love to visit one day. I really enjoyed this book. Who wouldn't want to read about The Sea of Trees and the Suicide Forest? Definitely recommend this as a truly interesting read. The photos give you a good glimpse into the places and help you imagine them as you read. I'll probably read the author's other books after this.

By LiterallyLiterary At 93 pages, one can't expect this book to go very deeply into things, and it doesn't. It's light reading about locations that are mostly well known and more deeply covered in other books.If you were new to the subject of paranormal things, this book would be a good primer to start you off and whet your appatite for deeper readings into the subjects touched on by this book. As long as you don't expect more than that from this book, the brevity of it won't bother you too much.My only true problem with it is in regards to a photo used in the section about the Lome Voodoo market in Africa. That section is finished with a photo of the famous Sedlec ossuary in the Czech Republic, which has no connection to Africa, Voodoo or anything else in the text it accompanies.

I signed up for LinkedIn a LONG time ago, yet despite the fact that I constantly get notifications from them I have been hesitant to get really involved. There are so many social media sites out there today and this just seems like another place that I have to check in and keep up or miss out. This book helped me get a better grip on my account and set it up to where it is more user friendly. It also helped me understand the why's of certain parts of the site, ways to make the most of my profile and more efficient ways of searching. If I spent all of my time on LinkedIn I have no doubt that I would have my account working to its fullest potential. However, I don't have that much time and quite honestly, I like to think of social networking as a way to relax and zone out. Nothing about this site is relaxing. But then again networking and job seeking is not relaxing at all. This book helped me feel more comfortable with the site but I still don't feel as comfortable as I would if I spent what is needed most...time. Sample provided for honest review.

I remember when I first got on LinkedIn, and not that many others were on it yet. Only a few companies seemed like they even used it. Now, when I see that someone has endorsed me or viewed my profile, I realize just how much this network has grown.This book is like taking your resume to professionals to get it tailored, only for your LinkedIn profile instead. It helps you understand what LinkedIn is, how to use it, and how to maximize your profile to go to to the top of the hit list for recruiters. I'm savvy enough on networking and social media, but this little find definitely helped me step it up to the next level. Though I am not looking for a job right now, I have been contacted by a couple of recruiters since updating my page.This product was provided to me in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

By Alexandra Wilkins I set up a LinkedIn account years and years ago, when I was between jobs and looking for something else. I didn't really think it was much more than any of the other job websites around, so I never gave it much attention.. boy, was I wrong! This book has really opened my eyes about how useful LinkedIn can actually be, if you just use it properly. It helps by breaking down how to make the best personal profile you can, so you can stand out from the rest, when employers are looking for new employees. LinkedIn works both ways, as well. Businesses can create their own "Company Page" for potential employees and customers to see and communicate to the business with, and the book also talks about that. There's a lot of other helpful key points the book touches on, to make sure you get the most out of your LinkedIn account!I received this book in exchange for my honest, unbiased and I think it was extremely helpful in making my LinkedIn account all it could be.

It introduces the basics of Spanish. The author took time to make me feel comfortable as I try to pick up the language. It starts of slow and really breaks it so even I could understand it! And I had a hard time with Spanish in high school. The author puts hour mind at ease. She explains the Spanish alphabet and how to properly pronounce the letters. It was very motivational and I'm going to practice every day till I'm fluent. I definitely recommended it to everyone

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. An encouraging introduction to start conversing in Spanish By Richard Hudson I've been studying with this book for over a week now. Ignore the title. This book is about encouraging you to begin speaking Spanish as quickly as possible, and it does succeed at that.I really like the author's approach to simplifying verbs -- instead of referring to the "second conjugation of the preterite tense of aprender", describe it as "I learned". I find this to be a simpler, and more encouraging approach to verbs than the more precise method other books use. Verbs (a subset of the most commonly used ones) are presented in Appendix 1.When I started studying this book, I thought it was worth five stars, due to how encouraging it was, and for the inclusion of stuff like the list of spanish words that are similar to english, and "English Words With a Spanish Accent?". What made me think it was only worth four stars was that it seems it could use more proofreading. Specifically, the discussion of verbs is along the lines of "review the verbs in Appendix 1, and when you have done so, translate these phrases". There are no answers available for the translated phrases, and not all the verbs required for the exercise phrases are in the book (ie, decir is not there), so you are left on your own to check your answers against something like google translate, or to just not learn from your mistakes. I think proofreaders, or more test readers, would have pointed out these things.What made me rate this three stars instead of four is that the title is misleading--it oversells what is otherwise a very good book. One week with this book should make you capable of speaking a limited amount of basic, broken, spanish (I am studying this while in Paraguay, where almost no one speaks English, and I am well aware of how difficult my conversations still are), not "Spanish Mastery". To be able to speak a limited amount of basic, broken Spanish after a week is an achievement, but I think titles that oversell should be rated accordingly.Overall, I found the book encouraging, and with useful information presented in a simple, easy-to-follow manner. If the book had some more proofreading, and changed the title to something more accurate like "One Week to Basic Spanish Conversation", I'd give it five stars.

Lima Not my first Howey novel, but this is the first time I cared about an author and his work enough to sit down and write a review. I just finished putting the book down and frankly I'm still too anesthetized by Howey's bold idea to write something truly helpful. But I'll try anyway. In this review I'll refrain from commenting on the plot, on narrative or writing style. These are all done in beauty and elegance, although such judgements are really subject to the eyes of the beholder. However, I will try to write about something more elusive: what the book is really about; the book's soul.I expected a sci-fi dystopic future along the lines of the Wool Olmnibus. However, what I got as I delved deeper into Beacon 23 was a magnificent and mind-numbing exploration of the human mind and human nature - naked and raw in all its beauty and shortcomings.Howey, in a straightforward and effotless manner, digs deep into the very fabric of human emotions. The entire novel serves a single purpose: to allow the author to pose a grand question. A beautiful and inspiring question.Some might say that the tone of this novel is too dark and gloomy, albeit I found myself laughing out loud at certain points. I hope those who would say that stuck to the end of the book and were rewarded by the feeling of hope and peace which pervaded my thoughts as I put my kindle down. I honesly hope you will agree and that Hugh Howey continues surprising us with his writing.

The main character is a soldier trying to run from his memories and his guilt. But even living alone in the middle of the galaxy, as sole keeper of the beacon, are not enough. The fast pace, the intriguing plot and the doses of humor kept the story from getting grim. And creating his 'new normal' was realistic and poignant and brought many smiles to my face.Good job, Hugh. Thanks for the hours of wonderful reading.

By Brian 4.5 out of 5So far at the edge of Sector 8 (so far out that it should be Sector 9) sits Beacon 23. Each beacon has a “keeper” in them to make sure that if anything goes wrong it can be fixed quickly. This is where we meet Digger. He is alone at the edge of space with just his thoughts and memories. Follow five stories (that were originally posted as serial fiction).I have to start the “my thoughts” part of this review out admitting that I am a Howey fan even though I never finished Wool (I started reading it during a dark period in my life and couldn’t bring myself to finish it). After reading this, I remember why I liked Howey’s stories so much.The character development is great. The point of view was drastic, but in a good and heartbreaking way. The story revolves around a former war “hero” who has requested to be the keeper of a Beacon way out on the edges of space for NASA. Throughout the story you find out bits and pieces of the story as to why he is considered a hero, why he doesn’t think that he is, and exactly what happened to him on that day.His aloneness reminded me of The Martian. His humor reminded me a bit of Watney from The Martian too, but this was a totally different story. The story took a dark turn and weaved in serious mental issues (like PTSD and severe anxiety) in with humor that would have me one minute almost in tears and the next clutching my stomach and laughing.The story is dark and tragic, but I am really glad that I read it. I really felt like I knew Digger by the end. I’m also glad that I didn’t read this as the different “episodes” came out. Only because I would have wanted to whole story, not just bits and pieces of it.Summary of enjoyment by PartsPart Two: Pet Rocks – easily my favorite story. It’s funny and sad. I flew through this one.Part Four: Company – just made me happy.You needed all the parts to understand the full story, so after those two parts it would go: 5, 1, and then 3 for the level of enjoyment. Though if I individually rated each story – none of them would have gotten under a 4 out of 5 stars.

GMAT Quantum's Review: Identical to the Previous Edition but gives Online Access to the Question Pool By Mahendra Dabral In my opinion there was no need to release this guide. This new edition is identical to the older version of this guide which is called the Official Guide to GMAT 13th Edition. All of the questions in this guide(I checked every single quant question) are exactly the same as the older version. If you already own the older version, then there is no need to buy this.The only additional thing that comes with this guide is the online access to the same pool of 900 questions. The online database allows students to select the type of problem and the difficulty level(easy, medium, and hard). One can also attempt the problems in study mode or exam mode. That pretty much is the only useful addition to this new release. Other than that GMAC, the writers of the test, are just using this to make more money by making previous editions seem obsolete.I gave it four stars because it is an indispensable source that provides official GMAT questions which are key to getting a sense of the style and structure of the GMAT questions. Excellent Source of Official Questions (Unless you own previous edition) Poor Quiz Engine By GMAT Club (Expert) First of all - if you own the previous version (13th edition), there are no new questions in the this book. The only reason you may want to purchase these is to have the online quiz engine available to you but it is a pretty bad system and not worth buying the guide for.~~~ Strengths ~~~1. Real GMAT questions retired from past tests - 907 real GMAT questions retired from past tests.2. Online quiz engine allows you to build practice sets using the OG but it is very weak and cumbersome (more below)3. Practice questions follow actual GMAT test patterns (it's great to have one's ear trained, esp. in verbal)4. Overview of the Integrated Reasoning section (50 questions online)~~~ Weaknesses ~~~1. The quiz system is too simplistic and cumbersome. For example I have no idea how to start working on question 10. I have to restart from the beginning every single time and it seems it is not even tracking what questions I have attempted??? Very odd... perhaps I have been spoiled with good GMAT Prep and other CAT Test interfaces. I am struggling here. The exclusive videos are also not much to write about; it is very similar to what you can find on GMAC's youtube channel.2. Questions are EASY in general (only about 5 questions are really a 750 level) based on GMAT Club member feedback. Here are the hardest ones: (V Diag 25, PS 218, DS 129, DS 131, DS 141).3. Does not include any test-taking strategies. Though it has a few short review sections for each area, they are weak and very unfriendly4. Questions are predominantly low to medium in difficulty which is often not representative of questions one encounters on the test5. We really could have used some new questions. The official Guide questions are generally on the EASY side.6. There is a 100% overlap with previous edition. 13th Edition has an 83% overlap with the 12th edition. 12th edition has a 66% overlap the 11th edition.~~~ Contents (number of questions per section)~~~1. Diagnostic Test - 100 questions2. Problem Solving - 230 questions3. Data Sufficiency - 174 questions4. Reading Comprehension - 139 questions5. Critical Reasoning - 124 questions6. Sentence Correction - 140 questions7. Integrated Reasoning - 50 questions (not included in the 907 count)P.S. GMATPILL's Review: No New Content Compared to OG13, Just an Online Question Feeder Tool By GMAT PILL (Zeke Lee, Expert) As confirmed by GMAC ---- "the new edition does not contain any new questions." They never said it did -- so the marketing is accurate. It's just that --as a new edition -- users generally expect something substantial.As GMAC has been phasing out certain questions over time and putting more emphasis on other questions (i.e. fewer and fewer idioms, and more and more meaning-based SC, for example) -- it would have been nice to see more examples of these "newer" questions so students can get a sense of where the exam is shifting towards in terms of what is being tested.So if you already have OG13 and are specifically looking for new content, stick to what you have because you won't that here.Here's what it boils down to:==============================================OG2015 = OG13 + Online question set tool + Exclusive videos==============================================Online question set tool = lets you create customizable question sets from the pool of existing 900 OG13 questions and spit it out to you on a computer screenExclusive videos = "exclusive videos from real test takers and GMAC staff who share insight and tips on GMAT preparation" - I wouldn't get too excited about this.Now, the quality of the questions is as good as you can get. But since OG13 already exists on the market, I have to give my rating in terms of what the average customer's expectation is -- hence the 3 stars. We gave the original OG13 book 5 stars on Amazon, but unfortunately, we believe the two additional components in OG2015 are not enough to get the rating higher than 3 stars.That said, i do have to give some credit to the online interface design. It's decent and clean. Although nice, I believe most people interested in buying a "next edition" of the book are primarily interested in additional questions rather than a fancier, more modern presentation of the same set of questions.I personally believe the previous OG13 has more questions than you need -- so you don't really need 900 more questions. If you have OG13, stick to what you have but really get more out of what you already have. We have videos and resources aimed at helping you in this regard.------------------------------------------------------------------Since OG13 = 900 retired questions + online access to 50 Integrated Reasoning questions....The OG14 effectively consists of:1) 900 retired questions2) online access to 50 Integrated Reasoning questions3) Online question set tool that feeds you those 900 questions4) Exclusive video tips from GMAC staff.Now, items #3 and #4 are new --- but hardly enough to make OG2015 worth buying over OG13.In fact, I'd recommend saving the $9 or so difference between OG2015 and OG13 and just buying the OG13 version to save yourself a few bucks.You'll still have access to the same questions. And you'll still have online access to the 50 IR questions online.**************************************What is the Online Question Tool?You select question type (Problem Solving / Data Sufficiency, Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, Sentence Correction) as well as difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard, All) --- and the question digs up those questions and spits them out to you on your computer browser.Since the actual test is in front of a computer, there is some value in seeing the questions on a computer screen rather than inside a book.But if you are able to make this psychological adaptation between a book and a computer screen, you'll notice this is not all too different from opening the book to the Sentence Correction section and randomly picking a question. Sure, the software does a better job of picking out the level of difficulty for each question---but hey, it's not too hard too eyeball a question and get a good estimated guess of how difficult it is.There's a timer that lets you keep track of how much time you spent on each question -- this can be generally useful.So while there is some value in the online tool----it's not enough to meet users' expectations.************************************How good are the "exclusive videos"?Well, since we teach GMAT through videos at www.gmatpill.com -- we can't comment on the value of the videos as we have a clear bias. Having said that, you should not expect these videos to expose any inefficiencies or show you any opportunities to get an advantage over the competition -- and that's simply because you can't possibly get that from the creators of the exam. Instead, you'll see general tips about the preparation process.********************************Where can I get more questions?Well, the OG Quant and OG Verbal books -- if you don't already have them -- would be a good source of additional questions. I had to know how Anders, a struggling academic with a few genetic modifications, managed to get through his day hungover after a blind date. The descriptions of daily life in the context of futuristic technology kept me turning the pages. I found the dialog vibrant and entertaining - Anders, Terry, Gary, etc. are those exciting friends that make normal life fun. I hope there is a sequel!Read this book if you want to be entertained while being challenged to think about our growing dependence on science and technology.

Fun Party where Anyone might be Killed By Tim Ward Three Days in April by Edward Ashton could be described as the book that brought its futuristic-drug giggles to the award ceremony. Meanwhile, chemicals in the air are planting tiny bombs inside everyone around them. Bombs that are likely to go off before anyone knows they're infected.Three Days in April introduces two of these characters right away, both modified with DNA splicing akin to what may result if Jurassic Park didn't have such a horrific ending to their plans. They're still people, though, and the author's ability to show us this in smooth strides alongside showing how their modifications make them far different than we could imagine fascinated me and kept me reading.Three Days in April is one of those rare books that engaged on so many levels that I read it from start to finish without losing any interest. His character cast is at times hilarious, often surprisingly smart, definitely human, but also something we've never seen. His plot mixes in the daily life of twenty-something hackers and their friends as a terrorist attack begins a holy war between those who are modified and those who aren't. He's done his homework on making this technological war appear plausible and lifelike, while also massaging our nerd sensors for what cool gadgets we may get in the future.This book is kind of like how a lazy gamer generation would like to learn about new technology, in a future society where you can get mods to become a Pretty or a Neanderthal, but in a story told for those who enjoy fart jokes and the fun you can have when responsibility doesn't get in the way.Thanks to HarperVoyager for letting me be a part of the Super Readers program and for this review copy. This will compete for top read of the year!

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Hilarious, Brilliant, and Terrifying By Michele I will start by saying that I am not a sci-fi fan. I generally don’t even read books that aren’t literary classics. Now I will proceed to say that this book is a must-read. It’s simultaneously brilliant, hilarious, and terrifying. Ashton’s characters speak in clever, sarcastic dialogue that kept me smiling and laughing while I read about the tragedy at the core of the story (yes, it’s a bit uncomfortable to realize this) but his humor is that infectious and his writing is so smart that I did not want to put this down. His ability to weave a complex, intriguing story from multiple perspectives is admirable and daunting. However, what’s most impactful is Ashton’s ability to take the utopian advancements we see developing, at an exponential rate, in our everyday lives, and unravel them into a dystopian fiction that doesn’t seem all that far off from possibility. My experience was similar to the feeling I got when I read A Clockwork Orange and realized that I had slowly but surely learned and began to think in terms of Nadsat, the cult-language spoken by the characters throughout the book. As I laughed at the witty dialogue, and was entertained by the tragic story of Hagerstown, Ashton was sprinkling in aspects of this “fictitious” culture that began to make me uncomfortable: genetic mouse-splicing and “pretty” modifications, a panopticon run by National Security, people drinking BrainBump to increase serotonin levels, and interactive house avatars that controlled the lights, the locks, and more….that did not seem completely implausible.Sure, we are not quite living in a “Silico-American” world where people have oculars showing us chat room screens and news feeds right in our eyes, the government doesn’t abolish our homes with a two-minute warning, and so far we don’t have rogue avatars controlling our communication with the outside world, but the idea of a generation of humans that are spliced with chosen modifications to improve their looks, their height, their speed, do not seem as far off of a concept (hmmm, I’m thinking CRSPR).Three Days in April isn’t just a techno-thriller or speculative fiction. Although it is extraordinarily entertaining, and Ashton is an extremely talented writer with a flair for humor and story-telling that is difficult to accomplish, let alone master, as he does, but if you also want to read something about human nature, evolution, innovation and dystopia, if you want to read something intelligent, something that shows a future failing against the tried and true nature of humans’ resistance to accept those who differ from themselves, if you want to read a modern, Braver, Newer World, read this.

About the Author David M. Salkin is the author of eight thrillers in various genres, including military espionage, crime, horror, science-fiction, action-adventure and mystery.   His books have received Gold and Bronze medals in the Stars & Flags book awards. Salkin an elected official in Freehold Township, NJ where he has served for twenty years in various roles including Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Township Committeeman and Police Commissioner.  He co-owns Salkin’s Jewel Case with his brother and is a Master Graduate Gemologist.   When not working or writing, David prefers to be Scuba diving with his family.  He is a Master Diver and “fish geek”, as well as a pretty good chef and wine aficionado.  Some of his famous recipes were perfected in the parking lot of Giants Stadium.

By SJW If you like suspense, sports, spies and history rolled into one....this is a great read! This story is a real page turner with great characters, suspense and a climatic ending....all loosely based on a true story. In general, Salkin's novels have a knack for incorporating historical elements, interesting characters and intriguing plots which keep you wanting more. One can't help but wonder what's coming next!

Its tone and theme is reminiscent of popular films such as Black Hawk Down and Behind Enemy Lines.The plot was well laid-out with several satisfying twists and brought to fruition in the end without the need of a cliffhanger, which I personally appreciated. Though the author still left room for a potential sequel.The characters were portrayed in a true-to-form manner that made them believable and even likable. The language in this book is quite colorful, but seemed to be appropriately placed and not overly frequent to take away from the story.I very much enjoyed this book and could see it being made into a successful film. I look forward to future works by this author.

Trouble is she loves to use magic and is finding it hard not to use it. When Amy's sister announces that a new cupcake shop is opening down the street and worse yet the owner of the new cupcake shop is an old rival will Amy fall off the wagon in order to defend her sister or will she stand strong and face things without magic? I love the spin she gives on Lucifer. Love the Voodoo witch in this book too.This one is a quick fun read that I really loved. This is my first book in this series and I must say I will be buying the rest of them. Misty has done an excellent job with this short book, so you do not have to worry if you have not read any of the other books in the series.

I must say, this was my first read in this series, and I loved it. Being that it is the seventh installment in the series, I was nervous about reading it. I was worried it wouldn't make sense, especially since it was short. However, Misty Evans did a magnificent job with this story! Not only did it bring me into the loop and give me all the information I needed, but it also had a great plot. Getting to know these characters, and really enjoying their antics in such a short time was awesome. I'm planning to go back and catch up on the others because I loved this one so much. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Amy Atwood is a witch who is working hard to not use magic; she is on step seven of Witches Anonymous. But when she finds who is working against her and her sister she may have to get help from her boyfriend Lucifer. If you are looking for a great book then you need to read this book. The heroine is a 16 year old Amazon and the hero is a 21 year old space trader. The settings were vague and the world building so sparse that it made the characters seem out of place. I started to skim and then gave up. Maybe it was too soon.I became sick of the use of the word wench. The hero repeatedly uses that word to address the heroine and to refer to his sexual activities. There is also attempted rape.mature content

I took Spanish back in high school for a couple years and since then, havent tried learning it more. After picking up this book, i felt as if I never left the classroom. The book was easy to read and follow and teaches you everything from the basics to intermediate levels of spanish (reading, writing, speaking). Though it isnt the longest book, it has a way of relating to most readers way of learning.

I have had trouble finding Spanish to read and practice at my level. I either pick up a book that is way too advanced or a book that is explaining what Nombre means. This book was great and very helpful. I like the layout of it also, a short article then a lot of questions that test what you have learned.

Hatcher I don't typically read books like this, so it'd be hard for me to give it a fair review that I'm sure it deserves.This book has interesting characters and an easy-to-follow plot, which is good for a casual reader like myself. It starts off kind of like a western in an alternate universe where things are more technologically advanced than OUR westerns. It doesn't stay western for too long when you actually get into the plot, then it's more action-adventure. I liked this book.

I can explain why.I received Book 1 for free in exchange for a review from LibraryThing Members Giveaway. I hated Book 1. The characters were cardboard-like with no development whatsoever. The heroine is an annoying brat I want to slap so hard, it hurts my head. The hero doesn't do anything. The only plus points for the book was the refreshing plot. It's not new - anyone used to reading Chinese light novels will know that this is something common. But it's new in the world of English fiction, and as annoying as Lynn's writing is, I found that I was deeply intrigued by the plot.So I did something that I swore I'll never do - I bought the second book of a series, of which the first book I've received from LT. The first thing that I noticed was that the writing has improved slightly and the character development had advanced by leaps and bounds. Some characters are still puppets for advancing the plot, but there's a whole lot more character development going on and I found myself loving the antagonists in the book, which is always a good sign.In Book 3, the writing has improved yet again. That said, if you're a picky reader who needs your books to be written in flawless, perfect English, this book isn't for you. Character development here is very subtle. I still hate the heroine, but I've learnt to accept her very human flaws. She'll never be that kickass heroine that rushes in and saves the day, but neither is she the reckless bimbo who jumps on her impulses immediately - she does it after giving it several minutes of consideration and self-restraint, of course, but if you can't see that as a development, and a very realistic one at that (because personalities are somewhat impossible to change), then my advise is, don't waste your time on this book because you probably won't like it.I also love the issues addressed in this book. In the past, books like to picture the world in absolute black and white. When the first book appeared portraying the world in shades of grey (with no intended reference to a certain erotic series), many jumped on it and loved it, me being one of aforementioned "many". However, as years passed, I start thinking that a lot of books have lost the concept of grey areas and just started justifying wrong actions because they can, and because the crowds like it and that's what they want to feed the crowd. Lynn threw all of that away and drew a line once more: "this is my world. I'm truly sorry but there's just no way we can coexist. In a struggle between eat and be eaten, I know which option I prefer." It's a risky move because most people are still on the "grey area" bandwagon. But for me, I love her for pulling away from the masses and doing what she wants rather than what she thinks readers will like.Another thing that annoys me as hell in novels is how A always ends up getting together with B simply because A was "fated" to be with B or because B was the reincarnation of A's lost love. Here, Lynn says, screw that. If A ends up with B, it's because A loves B. Even if C is the reincarnation of A's lost love, it doesn't matter. Memories are what makes a person, not the soul.Is this book perfect? Hell, no. I think too many matters are resolved too easily and the ending leaves much to be desired, but Lynn's definitely improving. If you're willing to suffer through an annoying as hell Book 1 and risk the possibility of wasting your time because you end up not liking Books 2 & 3, if you want to give an indie author a chance, if you're into the themes of mangas and animes but would rather have it delivered in the form of an English novel give this book a try.Disclaimer: I bought this book in its entirety with my own money with no discounts whatsoever. Great plot, albeit with various plot holes. Happy-ish ending with some loose ends. Recommended for fans of Japanese shoujo mangas and animes. Not recommended for Grammar Nazis.

Masterful conclusion By Ana Silva What a ride.This was a brilliant conclusion to a wonderful fantasy trilogy.Book of Immortals: Master has a relentless pace. The writing wastes no time being flowery and goes straight to the point, whilst still providing vivid descriptions of this amazing world.I was completely enthralled by the story, although for a large part I thought I knew what was going on so was disappointed that the story went in a different direction and then the author completely turned the table on me.But the main reason why this book does not get 5 stars is because it did not wrap up as nicely as I wanted. The first book starts with Celine being transported from our world to World of Immortals while she was on an air plane. Ever since I read that I have been yearning for an explanation to why it happened, especially since Erik kept mentioning going back. The fact that I did not get one left me yearning for a ‘proper’ conclusion.Still, I had a great time reading this novel. I breezed through it. Every free moment I had went to reading Celine’s story and the writing is so effortless that no matter where I stopped I could always easily pick up the thread. Miss Lynn has created such a fantastic world that I kind of wish this was turned into a series so that I could get more.I highly recommend the entire trilogy. Make sure you read it. Wilkinson Book of Immortals: Master (Book of Immortals, #3) by Kassandra LynnShann saved the world almost twenty years ago and has the Book of Immortals. In the book it shows the person responsible for the next world disaster in the Arcadia Mountains. Also (tells of the) reincarnation of the only man she has ever loved, Aaren.She sets out to find Aaren with her new strong new powers and faces difficult situations, and has tough choices to make. Also her master is ascending, the sects are convening, and a reckoning is coming that suspends all their lives in the balance.The last of the Immortals series, sums up Shanns life. Shann is very likable and a strong women, she has gone through a lot and will go through more. Aaren is likable as well. They have to face many dangers and challenges but are determined to be together, at any cost.The plot is original with twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are well developed the story moves at an even pace. Overall Book of Immortals: Master is a great story and enjoyable read. Those who love a great fantasy should enjoy it as well. I also liked the cover, it is brilliant with color and captures Shann perfectly.*This book was given to me as a gift.
