That was....awesome! The Divide was everything that I hoped for in a sequel. It was one of those reads where you want to devour it all at once, and simultaneously savor it slowly so you spend as much time as possible immersed in this dreamy world. I absolutely loved the fact that we got to spend so much of this book in Terra!! I was so intrigued by this wondrous dreamland in The Dreamer, but I really fell in love with it in this book. And the fact that Dev was there, well it certainly added to the appeal.Seriously, I was so wrapped up in the dream guy that I completely forgot about the waking world boyfriend, Jared. I was kind of disappointed once I did remember about him. I've been team Dev since the beginning. But I am a sucker for the slow budding romance, and Mellow did this perfectly! It was done with my preferred romance cocktail of internal longing, humor, and that glorious balance of not knowing whether they want to shin kick each other or kiss."Dev pins me with his beauty, his desire, and- I take note- his anger. Every one of my cells jump with his sudden presence, and in this precarious place, with this hedonistic music spinning around us, the Molly that's telling me I should step away and clear my head, at this point, is a shell of a woman. But the other Molly, the one who wants to push Dev into the shadows, well, she just downed a protein shake and is stronger than ever."I really enjoyed seeing Molly come into her role as the Dreamer, and what being such really means. I think we have only just begun to learn some of the amazing things she can accomplish. I also thought the correlation between the brewing war with the Metus in Terra and the rise of awful things happening in the real world was a neat idea. It was especially interesting to see how that had previously played out throughout history. The Metus are a fearsome foe. To think that all it takes is a touch to be totally consumed by the evil and complete hopelessness, just to become the very thing that you were fighting against a moment before. Good or bad, I just can't get enough of Terra and all it's inhabitants. Which is what has me kind of worried, because as we all know..."But then all too quickly, like a Metus invading, I'm reminded of something, We must all wake up from dreams."I'm so freaking nervous for what is going to happen in the next book....that ending was crazy! I'm devastated by it, and yet, still holding onto hope. Now begins the torturous wait to see what happens next.I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

All thoughts are 100% my own.***Ok, I’m going to try to get through this review using my words. This isn’t an indication of the book being bad. FAR from it. I actually like this book BETTER than the first, and THAT is a rare thing. Most times second books are a slump between the first and third. This one though? Oh no…this one, takes all that awesome from the first, minus all the stuff I wasn’t keen on in the first, and smashes it all together with even more of the awesome chucked right on in there. That being said, Molly is back. And she’s going through the training that she needs to go through, and yes, Jared is still there in her waking life and Dev is still there in her sleeping. (but there’s resolution here!) And there’s major butt-kickage! MAJOR. And major SUCKAGE! I will tell you, when you read this, you’ll DEMAND to read the next book. D-E-M-A-N-D to. So, for those of you who have to know RIGHT FREAKINGNOW!!!!!!!GROWLBRUGJAHDNREIANGIAIOFODIDASH!!!!!!!! My suggestion is to wait until that third book comes out, so you’re not sent into non-verbal, caveman fits, like me!I found this book highly entertaining. It was light enough to read in one sitting, and engrossing enough to keep me interested. So much so, that I now have to know….well, I CAN’T tell you!?!?!!!!!!! BUT if you’ve read it, you know what I’m talking about! *moves two fingers between my eyes and yours* We’re hur! I’m with you!Ms. Mellow does NOT invoke her last name with this book. I wasn’t MELLOW for most of it. I will tell you that it’s WELL done. This book definitely doesn’t hit that second book slump that is common. And it is actually better than the first. I can’t wait for the third installment. I’m DYIN OVAH HEE-YAHHH!!!!! But I would most definitely recommend this book. If you don’t do the cliffhanger thing, WAIT until the next book is out, or the final one…not sure how many are planned for this! But TRUST me, put it in your wish list. In your TBR pile, where ever. I don’t care! This has the type of glossed over nookie, but boy howdy, for it to be glossed over, it was steamy. (NOT graphic in the slightest, but the point is definitely gotten across CLEARLY!) So if that’s a no-no for you. I understand that too.

Loving The Dreamland series even more By Marian Bartolome *I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.**Review originally posted on www.WillReadforFeels.com.As much as I love contemporary romance, there are times I find myself tired of the same old flavor. Now, there’s only a number of fantasy authors I follow, so I was especially happy when I discovered E.J. Mellow. Her debut novel The Dreamer‘s still one of my unexpected favorite reads of the year, and after my character + author interview with her, I was all the more excited to dive into The Divide. Thankfully, I hadn’t had to wait very long—and as you can tell from my 5-star rating, it was worth the wait.Months ago when I asked E.J. what we could expect from the sequel to The Dreamer, she said that it would have more action, tougher challenges, and greater decisions. She didn’t let me down. Stakes were definitely upped. Molly encountered plenty of hits, both in her “awake” world and in Terra, and they weren’t just physical (though there was lots of that, too). There were the mental hits where she had to absorb her new reality and learn as much as she could about her pivotal role as the Dreamer. Then there were the emotional ones—from coming to terms with the changes in her relationships to uncovering shocking truths about people she thought she knew. In this book, Molly is put through the wringer and is forced to discover what she stands for and how much she’s willing to sacrifice for her convictions. I loved how she stepped up and showed maturity, strength, and compassion.One of my concerns going into this book was the love triangle. I dislike it when a character wavers between two love interests, especially if (a) the indecision is prolonged, and (b) cheating is involved/is imminent. I’m happy with how this was resolved and how it allowed Molly to focus on her heroine’s journey. And yes, I’m happy with Molly’s interactions with her love interest. To say that their push-and-pull relationship made me swoon doesn’t seem enough—it merits the use of the Filipino term “kilig.” Unfortunately, I can’t expound to avoid giving too much away, but long story short, it gave me SO MANY FEELS. I’m so excited to see where book three will take this couple, especially given that cliffhanger ending (again).As in The Dreamer, The Divide featured fantastic world-building and beautiful imagery. At some points, it made me think of Lois Lowry The Giver, Sherrilyn Kenyon’s The Dream-Hunter series, and Samantha Young’s Fire Spirits series, but it’s a unique story on its own, one that I pulled me into each page. I’m both looking forward to and dreading book three—the former, because I can’t wait to see how it ends; the latter, because I don’t want it to end just yet. That said, I’m anticipating what E.J. will come up with after The Dreamland series.
