There were cute bits with Omen, and we got to see more of Annie jumping head first into things.Flynn got kind of pushed to the back of this story. He got relegated to understanding boyfriend status, and didn't get to caper until close to the end.Magic was also added to this world in this book. Perhaps this mystery would have been to hard for Annie to solve without otherworldly help.I was hoping for Flynn to meet Aunt Bridge. Was also hoping to see more of Flynn and Annie together. The mystery is fun. Annie's ability to charm people is entertaining. But the two of them together get to be real people--sure they joke--but they also try to connect. I'd like to learn more about this super attractive fire fighter who is so drawn to this overweight, mentally ill, dynamic, sharp woman.

She likes good food too much to worry about it. She accepts what life has thrown her way and Annie is determined to enjoy her journey.This is a fun cozy mystery and the characters would make for great friends. I would like to hang around with Annie as she stumbles into danger, dragging her yummy boyfriend Flynn with her. She struggles with her past, her OCD, her well meaning but meddlesome aunt, and her need to know whodunit. A fun read for cozy lovers. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
