By Richard Murray Did you ever meet someone who was a bit cynical with a sarcastic snap to his interaction with other people that you couldn't help but like in spite of his faults? That's how I felt about the main character in this engaging story. He is the kind of person I'd like to hang out with because I know he would be endlessly entertaining.And as we all know, the mark of any good story is that it entertains its reader. It's what we expect from good authors. And that is what author David Nadas has managed to deliver.The story begins with a very amusing banter between the lead character and his ship AI. And yet, the world we find the characters inhabiting is believable with extrapolated science that you might logically find in the near future. From there forward we're taken to a mysterious event that evolves into a critical turning point with an unexpected and completely original crisis.The story concludes with a very satisfying, and again, unexpected ending. The book's subtitle states that this isn't a love story. Really? Well, maybe. You must read it for yourself to find out, but along the way expect to be entertained.

By James Bath I liked this story and predict that if the author, David Nadas, keeps developing his unique style he will collect many 5 star reviews over time. I liked his short visual sentences for perhaps the first 80 percent of this story. It kept the pace lively and entertaining. But then the author seemed to force a love ambience between the leading man and woman, which didn't work for me. So I withheld one star in my rating. But I think this author has much potential if he lets his books simmer a little longer between edits and doesn't rush them to publication. His laconic style more than once reminded me of authors like Frederik Pohl, Larry Niven, Kurt Vonnegut, and some others.

The three in this book, and I'm including Otto the A.I., are characters I could follow in a series of books.'From Europa With Love' left me wanting more, not just from the storyline, but from the individuals I am eager to learn more about. Backstories and the current events in this story can fill several books.This is the second short story I've read from David Nadas and I'm now convinced that I will read all of his work... this guy can write!I'm looking forward to his upcoming novel, 'Silversides'.
