It addresses how you can use your body an gesturing to communicate with others and get your point across.This reminds me of a speech class that I took in college which stressed the use of body language as key to communication. I found it quite useful as I advanced in both of my chosen careers. However, despite what I picked up years ago this book reinforces the basics (essential) and expands the with additional tips and techniques that can be used to advance a basic message or idea.I found this book useful on my first through, this is actually not a one read book. I think it is most useful if read multiple times so all the exercises can be studied and refined to present a natural presentation. It can also be used in a multitude of situations as it is not exclusive to public speaking.

Executive communication consultant Gina Barnett shares techniques used by actors to move audiences and explains how those techniques may be used to communicate more effectively in business. The book contains numerous exercises, some taking only seconds to practice. In the first part of the book Barnett describes how to use each part of the body to better communicate. She literally covers the body from head to toe. The second part of the book is devoted to developing presence. Barnett also addresses communicating virtually. Barnett’s lessons have relevance for everyone. Her teachings will help readers improve their personal and professional communications.

How to play your part and get results By Scott Sylvan Bell We all project ideas or thoughts by the way we use out voice, non verbal communication and interact with others. This book isnt just the same old information on body language and does help people communicate better. What you need to know is this book is more of a work book than a reading type of book. There are exercises for you the reader to get better at interacting with people on a daily basis.There are items to practice that are spelled out so they are easy to perform so that the message you have is more powerful and has meaning the other person or people can pick up.The best way to get the most from this book is to take each lesson one at a time instead of trying to do them all at once.
