Isac Khan found that out as he learned the truth about his families secret. They were the keepers of Lucifer's diary . When it comes to choosing the light over darkness it is much harder than he could ever imagine. He witnessed his best friend Demetre being claimed for the dark without a choice. Not knowing why he was given a choice himself or the task to keep Lucifer from rising. He finds it hard to trust those who claim to be helping him in his journey. Discovering sometimes there is some good even in the darkness of Devin a Nephilin. Can he trust him or is he just another Fallen Star under Nepele and the Dark Ones command?J.D. Netto manages to build the suspense and intrigue within the first few pages of this book. His vivid details make you feel as though you are right there with Isac and Devin. The story manages to keep you in suspense until you get the second part of the book seeing thing through Nephle's eyes. The story starts to feel rushed because so much is packed into the battle and searching for the books. Then finding the Lessers and blood suckers. You begin to wonder what has happened to some of the main characters and then they show up out of nowhere and the story going on around them just stops. I also had a problem with the characters names. So many of them were spelled similar and at times it was hard to keep up with who was who.Normally I can figure out what is going to happen at the end of the book long before I get there, but not with The Whispers of the Fallen. I can honestly say I didn't see that coming. Overall the book is a good read and I would definitely recommend it to fans of sci fi , fantasy. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars. 4 if the ending wasn't so rushed. But I still can not wait to read the next one.
