I was very apprehensive about setting up a trust and envisioned an expensive series of meetings with a lawyer. I am very glad that I read Mr. Gallagher's book. He explains the Living Revocable Trust process in a very straight-forward manner so that a non-lawyer can achieve success. I highly recommend this book.

To avoid probate of course!From Author Patrick Gallagher comes a very useful book on how to "Build your own living revocable trust". This book provides a solid plan for setting up a Trust to take care of your most prized assets from cash to estate. Although I knew very little about trusts at the start of this book, by the end of it I had enough of a knowledge platform from the process described in this book to confidently take action on setting up a trust. The author sets out in detail what a Revocable Trust is, the importance of having one, and the pitfalls to avoid when putting one together [and many of these include dealing with lawyers out to line their own pockets].Book Highlights I Found Most Useful [and you will too]:- Links to useful resources that adds more value to the material for readers;- Clear summaries and strategies for how to create a Trust;- Straightforward advice on dealing with Trust Lawyers and what to expect from their services;- The importance of "Funding Your Trust" and how to do it;- Links to sample documents for building your Living Revocable Trust;- What costs to expect, and more importantly, how to save tens of thousands by doing it yourself;- Resources section at the end of the book with with links to powerful resources!The last two chapters I thought were two of the most important in the book. The author goes more into detail about "What a Trust looks like" and provides actual photos of a document, as well as the content that the document includes; Chapter 6 is as equally valuable because it shows you the "How" of changing your existing Trust, called a Restatement. Again screenshots are provided for easier clarity that shows the difference between the origianl and revised version. And then Chapter 7 wraps everything up nicely by providing a complete list of the important documents needed to create a Trust Folder.The thing I enjoyed most about this book is the importance the author places on creating a Trust so that people can spend more quality time with friends and family, knowing that your estate is take care of. A recommended read if building a Revocable Trust is something you are looking into doing, and you can also pick up some tips on how to save lots of money in the process.
