Author Heather Bixler opens up in a very honest way about the need for us to be who we really were created to be. Our identity matters, we are not to hide behind anything, in fact, we are to "be bold enough to be extraordinary, THEN we will find the peace and contentment that comes with simply being ourselves."Heather designs the 4 week study to take the reader beyond average lessons. Each chapter shares a piece of the author's heart along with scripture to not just read, but to apply to our lives. At the end of each lesson, she gives a verse to study for a week using practical applications and journaling. There are also questions for the reader to consider which helps us apply what we just read. Chapter 3 really hit home for me because my identity was often based on other things, like being someone's sister or the Sunday school teacher, or someone's mom.Heather opens a door that helps us see our true identity SO THAT we will walk in greater freedom in Christ, allowing us to be a greater example of who Jesus is. We all need to read this, we all need to be who God created us to be!**i was given this book for free in return for my review. I was I was not required to write a positive review. Studies to shed shame and be infused with God's power By Valerie Caraotta Heather Bixler, throughout her many books, shares her journey with Christ as He, stage by stage, teaches her revelation. This book is no exception but reveals the masks that have been removed from her life from years of abuse. Truth is, though she shares areas she has struggled with, the principles are applicable to all our lives.Our past may be laden with overt sin or we may have abused ourselves internally with negative self talk. Regardless, this 4 week study will help you shed shame, confront the areas that have held you captive and help you develop bold confidence through Jesus Christ. If you suffer with some of these areas I recommend this book to you:-feeling unloveable and unworthy-never feeling you measure up-continually comparing yourself to others-feeling insignificant-desiring to hide and/or isolate yourselfEach of the 4 weeks has a memory verse, exercises to do daily to memorize it, and discussion questions where even small groups could enjoy together. I like that when the Lord brings one out of situations their experiential journey comes with it an anointing that can break yolks off of peoples life.Upon accepting Christ Bixler believes you must recondition your mind to understand how our Father sees us.Learn the 3 boundaries we all need so the enemy cannot feed lies from the past with today's relationships. Her desire is that as you obey God that favor will come into your life. These studies are meant to be applied on a regular basis in order to see lasting effects. I recommend this study as it is built around solid Scripture.This book was given as a gift in exchange for a fair, honest review.
