For those of us who have read Iona Portal, you will not be let down as this book carries the reader into a new dimension of life like never before. I have to admit, I have never considered life on this level before. I'm amazed at how this writer can create such a suspense within me one moment and at the same time, create an attachment to the characters so I'm drawn to continue. Once again, this is a must read!

I often find the second book in continuing stories tend to playoff the same storyline they told in the first book. Iona Stronghold definitely proves that wrong and holds its own as a story in the Iona saga. MacNeil introduces us to new characters and plot lines all while finding the time to show us how intricately they fit into the lives of the characters we enjoyed learning about in Iona Portal. One of the things I enjoyed the most about Iona Portal were the historical references used to tell the story, that is not lost in Iona Stronghold.MacNeil takes us to other worlds and new dimensions that you couldn't imagine even in your wildest dreams (or nightmares). The action starts early on and does not diminish throughout the book. He also leaves us with a twist that you would not have seen coming and gets me even more excited about book 3. It cannot get here soon enough!
