Some portions are difficult to decipher, because it's just a jumble of words. There is too much fluff in the form of repeated and reworded statements, large text fonts and largely empty pages.What is readable is not much more than a cursory or superficial overview of the subject. An insufficient amount of research has been done, and what little has been done is undocumented as to its source and credibility. It's as though the author copied several webpages from the internet, regurgitated the information and called it a book.One would expect numerous checklists and step-by-step directions and/or suggestions. There are only a couple in this book, and even they are lacking. There are no photographs, illustrations or diagrams as one would expect.This book is supposed to be about how to survive in a world without electricity. The author suggests having enough food, water and medicine to last from two weeks to six months. This is certainly not the worst case scenario. What if the government collapses, or we go to war? What if electricity is never restored? How do we survive without electricity, without vehicles, without fossil fuels (gasoline, propane, etc.), without government (law and order) or medical care? The author recommends stocking up on extra aspirin. Seriously.Without electricity to operate communication systems, our vehicles disabled, no access to basic necessities, Martial Law would be immediately declared. The author only touches on this. What would be our government's response? The National Guard would be deployed. Emergency response procedures would be activated. The author has completely ignored this.The best case scenario is that electricity would be restored in a couple of weeks. In that case, everything would go back to normal. This book prepares us for such an event.This book does not sufficiently prepare us for a worse case scenario.

No real learning for anyone beyond the beginner looking for preparedness information. While the book description above is horribly written and badly needs a proofreader, the book itself is fine. I picked this up when it was free, and that is about what it was worth to me. I didn't expect any huge revelations, but I grab these books hoping to get even a small piece of new information. I did not get that from this book.

One very wrong statement: 2200 kilometers is only appr. 1400 miles, a diameter that does not cover the whole USA. How to survive was repetitive. By the authors own admission many items listed as needed are not really within the reach large segments of the population. While many persons/families could not obtain the guns and ammunition listed as necessary, even those that can might not be able to effectively use them. Even if you can, how many people are you willing to shoot to protect your stash?
