Love this series By Tracy ~ Book Loving Pixies I love paranormal reads, that's no secret, and one of my favourite series is 'Welcome To Hell' by Eve Langlais.Hell's Geek is book #5 and it's another funny, sexy, action packed read with a couple of twists and turns - it's a great addition to the series - we get to see more of Lucifer and Gaia which I really enjoyed - Luc is one of my favourite characters in the WTH books.I read HG in a day, I didn't want to stop - once I get in the zone with a book by Eve I find it hard to leave.Dex isn't your typical minion from Hell.... tall and lean in build he's not the big brawny specimen you'd expect one of Lucifer's guys to be. The thing is, even though he's different to the other main men in the previous books his quick wit, intelligence and grit are all very attractive features - ones that Valaska can't help but be interested in - and I really liked his character.Our heroine is actually the big, tough and battle ready one in this story. An Amazon through and through - she's feisty, determined and more than capable of taking care of herself but there's more to Valaska than meets the eye.She is drawn to our hero even though he's not the kind of guy she'd usually go for - his attitude and actions intrigue her - Dex isn't put off by her strength, spunk and ability to fight, he's more than happy to be the brains of the outfit while she does what she does best, namely maiming and killing anything that they come across.Though they seem like complete opposites, the pair are attracted to each other from the off and it doesn't take long for them to get to know each other better - and I don't just mean swapping life stories... Lucifer was a surprise matchmaker when the series started but the guy has a real knack for picking compatible couples and throwing them together in the strangest of situations!The story line that started in Hell's Kitty continues in Hell's Geek and while a little light is shed on what's going on, we're still trying to work out who is actually behind all the shenanigans.... The epilogue was entertaining and I can't wait to see how things pan out following that - roll on the next book in the series!A solid 4* read in my book!

Adexios, "Dex", is our hero, and is a nice change from the other males in most of Ms. Langlais' books. Instead of her usual take-charge, kill-them-first-ask-questions-later type, Dex is charmingly clumsy and more of a thinker. It made for a nice change. Valaska, our heroine, is the warrior here. I have to admit, I didn't like her as much as some of Ms. Langlais' other heroines, but she made a nice foil for Dex. The book was full of the humor I expect from one of Ms. Langlais' works, and the plot moved along nicely. As always, Lucifer is a fun character, and we got to see quite a bit more of him then we do in most of the rest of the series. I don't give terribly many 5 star reviews, but this book hit all the right notes for me. It was funny, there was a plot and not just instant sex, and Dex is the type of guy I would love to meet in person.Overall, I would recommend this book to any reader that likes humor, both in language and in slap-stick situations, isn't afraid of suggestive language and a smattering of sex scenes. While it can be read as a stand alone, if this is your first Eve Langlais book, I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series. The world building will make much more sense and it will make your read more enjoyable. If you are used to Ms. Langlais but just haven't read this series yet, you could probably get away with starting here because you are used to her style, but I still think you would enjoy it more in order.I would say this is tied for my 2nd favorite in the series. It is definitely worth the time and money to add it to your collection, and will be a book I come back to again when I’m in need of a quick pick-me-up. Son of Charon, he’s expected to follow in his dad’s footstep. But Adexios wants more out of life than ferrying damned souls the rest of his life. Of course with Lucifer up to his matchmaking tricks, Adexios may be getting more than what he for wished…so long as he survives he the task Lucifer sends him on.I have mixed feeling about Hell’s Geek. So many times I felt like Alice with the whole what’s up is down and thinking backwards. Sometimes I found myself lost trying to keep up with the ‘what’s bad is good’ bit. Equally, there were times that Valaska just irritated me. Yes, I like my women characters strong. However, I felt at times the dumb caveman mode versus being strong Amazon woman had her coming out of character too much. Maybe because my image of an Amazon warrior matches more up with Xena and not Conan.Easily my two favorite characters were Adexios and Lucifer. A mischievous matchmaker, Lucifer has had me cracking up since the very first book. Adexios was a delight for me the whole way through. He starts as a useless nerd and despite coming into his own tough he-man, he never loses that nerdy side.As a whole, I enjoyed Hell’s Geek. It was filled with laughs and adventures I have come to expect from Ms. Langlais’ books. The journey that Adexios and Valaska takes into Hell’s wilds and the mystery they uncover makes for fun afternoon read. Filled with interesting twists and playful banter, Hell’s Geek runs on high octane excitement from start to finish. And just when you think it can’t get any better, the books ends on a high laughable OhEmGee! twister that you won’t see coming.
