These are the emails which we sent home to Australia from the two schools in China at which we were teachers. They were written as our lives progressed from day to day. Our thoughts were written down as we then felt them, not a year or more later when memories had dimmed. They were written days and sometimes only hours after the experiences and emotions which they describe. They were written to friends from whom nothing was held back. They describe the schools, the teachers, the students, places we visited and the experiences which took over the greater part of our lives during those two years. The emails are as they were originally written. They contain the normal errors and bad grammar that go to make up emails. They have not been edited, they have not been censored, nor have they been sanitised. The 84,623 words comprised herein are, as the title states, emails from China.

As you read through these informal emails Robert and his wife sent to family and friends back home, you will appreciate the big step they took to move out of their comfort zone and into a country where everything was so very different. Thanks to their handy guide book, they experienced so much that most of us have just dreamed about.This is a great read for those of us who would like to experience the adventure of living in China, without actually going there ourselves. If only I could have been one of the original email recipients back then........

By Amazon Customer Robert and May embark on a teaching experience in China and recount their experiences to their friends and family in a series of emails.This is a funny,well written book which also describes their sightseeing and travels.I recommend all people who want to travel to China or work overseas to read it.I loved it and could imagine some of the situations they experienced.Marion
