BEST BOOK EVER By Beth In "Skye and the One Republic" you will find an electric read detailing the dystopian adventures of Skye, a girl whose compassion for those around her and faith in the future lead her into invigorating danger. Throughout the novel her selflessness and genetically modified abilities take presidence over her own safety and make her into a female lead that rivals Katniss from "The Hunger Games" and Teresa from "The Maze Runner". Kelsey captures the conflicts experienced by the characters and drives them into adventure, spurring them to greatness in unimaginable feats of courage. He captures the themes of love, loss, and sacrifice with flawlessly command and precision. The parallels and underlying messages are absolutely phenomenal, connecting in ways that make you both love and curse the author. "Skye and The One Republic" is one of the best books I've ever read and I'd willingly recommend it to everyone!
8 of 9 people found the following review helpful. A MUST READ!!! By K. Black Skye and The One Republic is an amazing adventure, sci- fi story! I fell in love with Skye and Jupiter right away. I added this book to my lending library for my 8th grade science classes, and after describing the plot of the story, I have a waiting list already for this book. They can't wait to dive into this trilogy! I am ordering additional copies to keep up with the demand. This is definitely a must read!!!
7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. One of the best books I have ever read. By Hunter Nelson The book is similar to the writing style in "1984", "Fahrenheit 451", and "Animal Farm." What all of these books have in common is that they portray an oppressive government that its people all welcomed. As the book progresses through the main character, Skye, is introduced in how totalitarian government is a very bad thing as they begin to hunt her down because of the genetic modifications that her father was able to perform. As she progresses further she will learn what it is like to fight for the freedom of herself and everyone around her. This is a very well constructed book and unlike some books, even though the story is complex, it is detailed but not stretched out. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a new book to start. I am also extremely excited for the sequel!
